She hopes one day to be an oyabun in Seattle, and knows that she must be at least twice as capable as any of her male rivals in order to achieve her goal. Miko is understandably paranoid, always alert for any threat to her position. She is calm and collected but has been known to strike out suddenly and fiercely to whoever threatened her at time. A story goes that she single-handedly killed two members of the Halloweeners with her bare hands because of their sexist remarks. History Miko Ishikawa is a rarity among the Yakuza, a woman in a position of power. She has risen through the ranks of the Seattle Yakuza to become wakagashira-hosa - assistant to the second in command - of the Shotozumi-gumi. Ironically, Miko reminds Shotozumi-sama of his missing daughter, Keiko and has forced the oyabun to reconsider some of his traditional-bound ideas of women's place with the organization. Miko-san began as a kobun in the Shtozumi-gumi many years ago. Her initiative and ambition drew the attention of Heiachi Nakamura, her oyabun, wo was forced to acknowledge Miko's skilled administration and clever leadership despite her gender. When Heiachi Nakamura's second in command died in a conflict with the Mafia in 2056, Miko was quick to step into his place. She handled the crisis so smoothly that Shotozumi-sama decided it would be shameful not to recognize her achievement. He rewarded her by making her wakagashira-hosa, and she has worked doubly as hard to prove herself worthy of the position.
