As you enter the hospital in the morning you find it surprisingly empty. You don't pay too much attention to it until you come to the Ward Iris is lying on, which is always full of people visiting the sick. Now, even the sick are gone.
You look around for any people, nurses or patients for that matter but you find none. You get scared and start running toward Iris' room. As you go around a corner and approach her room you smell a nasty smell. That of dead bodies and stagnant water. A putrid smell of toxins and acids. You hurry on to Iris' room and you hear a hissing coming from the floor. You see that with every step you take little twirls of smoke are coming off of where your shoe-soles touch the floor. Strands of molten sole stick to the floor with every step you take. From different chambers to the left and right of you, large rats with glowing green eyes crawl towards you. Their furless backs covered with a strange, white cartilage hide.
As you approach Iris' room you run at top speed, being chased by hundreds of rats. You look back and in horror you pick up your pace even more. As you look back you see that you are making no headway, with every step you take it seems as if you are ten more steps removed from Iris' door. In desperation you pull your gun and start shooting at the rats behind you.
Iris' room lies on the end of this hallway and your rationale tells you that you should've been there by now. You turn around one more time to take a shot at the hundreds of the mutated Devil Rats that are following you by now. As you hit one square on its back you see the surrounding rats jump the weak and veraciously tear it apart.
BAMM!!! Without looking you smash against the wall at the end of the hallway. The last time you looked the end of the hall, and Iris' room was at least 70 yards removed from you. Your head is bleeding, and you hear the screeching of the Devil Rats behind you. You crawl into Iris' room and you see her bed there. She's sitting up fully awake. This revelation is drowned out by the feeling of pain as one of the Devil Rats sinks its diseased teeth into your leg. More follow and pretty soon it feels like you are being dragged, feet first, into hell.
You look at your daughter sitting on her bed, peaceful. She turns her head and you see something is wrong, something unexplainable. As you feel the Devil Rats still eating away at your legs, the pain fades. The only thing that keeps your attention as you are trying to crawl further to the bed, is the dark-red eyes that Iris now has. Her whole eye is red, and she slowly starts to tear blood. Her little hands start to rise and it seems like she's holding something. A sword, you see an inscription on its hilt,..."DREAMKILLER". She holds it out to you, but the only thing you do is stare in horror at what happened to her eyes,...and the tears coming from them.
Slowly you are being drowned beneath hundreds of Devil Rats gnawing at your body. Then you wake up...
